Her work has sold widely and been published in painting books. Among her many wins and awards, she took home first prize in open watercolour three years in a row at the Royal Easter Show and numerous firsts elsewhere, including the Franklin Arts Festival and the Taranaki Festival of Art. Her work is in private collections here and in Europe and Australia. Over the years, not only has she encouraged and supported many other artists through her demonstrations and workshops but she has also persisted in the development of her own skills with tutors both here and in Australia. Bernadette loves her chosen medium, saying that it is spontaneous and free as the water moves the paint around the paper, giving wonderful effects.
